Hi all,
For those interested in Raku, I'd like to pass along some information
about an upcoming workshop by Jim Romberg, sponsored by the Tacoma
Community College (TCC) Clay Club. TCC is located in Tacoma, Wa.

Jim Romberg, raku potter from Ashland Oregon will do a two day, April 13
and 14 (Sat. and Sun.), workshop--includes slide show and lecture, throwing
and slab construction, glazes and glazing, and firing of his and some
group glazing experiments/problem solving/tests. There will be a "Raku
Saturday" following the workshop and the Clay Club will fire individuals work
for a sign up fee and per pot charge. The workshop hours will be 10am-4pm
both days. There will also be a potluck lunch on Saturday. The workshop
price is $35 for students, $50 for nonstudents. (Active Clay Club
members should call me for the member price.) Checks for the workshop
should accompany your registration. Checks should be MADE OUT TO:
TCC CLAY CLUB. You may either send them to TCC Clay Club, c/o ART DEPT,
5900 12TH ST., TACOMA WA 98465 or to me at the address below. You can also
call the TCC studio for info and preregistration. If you preregister,
your check must be received within 5 business days. The workshop will be
conducted in Bldg 5, Room 4 on the TCC Campus in Tacoma. There is a limit of
35 with about 20 spaces still available. The TCC studio phone number is
(206) 566-5346. My number is (206) 851-3327.

Hope to see some of you. The view of Mt Rainier (weather permitting)
from the Raku kiln site is stupendous. That alone is worth the price!
Oh, for those of you in the NW, please post this conspicuously in your
classrooms, studios, etc. (Yeah, I know this part is a little cheeky of
me, but what the hay!)
