Recipe for a Great Workshop:

Gather:
23 enthusiastic, hardworking students of varying skill levels.
Add:
1 perceptive, knowledgeable and dedicated teacher.

Mix together until well blended.

Fold in a little storytelling, and a lot of laughter.
Add a dash of beautiful spring weather.
Sprinkle in a little South African spice.

Cook at about 70 to 80 F for one week.
Finish with a little raku and pitfiring party.

Results?
23 thrilled potters....delighting in what they were able to achieve with
clay.
New students going home with pots ....beginner pots, yes...but *good*
beginner pots.
Experienced potters throwing well crafted pots, better pots than they
ever thought possible.

23 participants expressing their joy in making pots, and knowing that
potters are fun, hardworking, wonderful people.

Great job, Mel.
