I entertained a visitor from England this past week-end and tutored
him through throwing a small bowl. As elementary as it was, he was
enthralled with the process and would like to continue at home.

Can anyone recommend an instructor or school of pottery in the
Reading/Berkshire area of England, west of London?

I will forward all responses.

My girlfriend's brother lives in Wokingham, a town adjacent to Reading.
He was transferred there by his employer two years ago.

I that time Connie, has travelled to England on three or four occassions.
She has developed a friendship with Ruthanne Tudball who lives in
Reading. This past summer, while she was there, she spent a weekend
helping Ms. Tudball at a pottery festival in Nottingham.

Ms. Tudball is an American who is a full-time studio potter in England.
Her area of expertise is soda firing. Her book on soda firing was just
published recently. I don't believe she gives lessons, but I'm sure she
can direct your friend to a school or crafts center in the area.
