Toni,

I have found this glaze to be equally effective for crazing in either raku
or an electric firing but you will need to test because different clays may
produce varying degrees of crazing. When I do an electric firing black ink
is rubbed into the craze lines to enhance the effect BUT this is done for
decorative or sculptural pieces only! I have also used body/glaze stains
in this glaze in small amounts for on glaze decoration. This glaze is best
on white clay or over a white slip on brown clay but again test with slip
to gauge the degree of crazing.

Fatty White Crackle

Raku or Oxidation to 1050 degrees C.

Frit 3134 (4508).............80%

Ball Clay.....................9%

Silica........................9%

Zircon Opacifier.............10%

Note: The frit used often depends upon what is at hand and the Zircon may
be in the form of flour, Zircopax or you could opt for the more expensive
Tin. While this glaze has given me excellent results I suggest that you
test, test and test again on several clays before making a large quantity.

let me know what you think
