Lisa,
I have had my Pacifica GT400 for about a year now. When I first
turned it on, I also noticed a belt-noise, so I turned it up on end and
removed the undercover exposing the belts and flywheel. A small can of
silicone spray came with the wheel, for use in case of belt-noise, so I
sprayed liberally and have had no trouble since. I, too, am pleased with
the wheel and love the two-piece splashpan. I have heard some complaints
about the so-called 'magic pedal', but think that must apply to older models
because mine is just as smooth as could be.

I use two GT 400's - one for porcelain and one for brown stoneware....The
controller went on one of them, but Laguna had me send it to them and they
had it back in a week completely fixed. Four tons of clay later, it's still
working well.. I have both set up on cinder blocks so I don't have to bend
over while throwing and it works well for me. I think these are great
wheels. I had to respray my belts about six months ago. I've had them
four years.
