Does anyone know of a source for Mt St Helens Volcanic Ash? All the outlets
I have checked have carried Navajo or Great Plains Pumice (same thing, I
think) but not the MSH. According to Obstler Out of the
Earth, Into the Fire (whatever!) the 2 are quite different and produce
different results.

One more question, How do you get in touch with Mimi Obstler, author of
this book? One of most fascinating books I have come across in long time.

Have a look at the new Lockerbie Willie E wheel which I tried at Las Vegas
and bought... and love!

Hi:

Mimi is great!!! I took her course in glaze chemistry years ago at the 92nd
street Y (in NYC). They might know how to get in touch with her. If that
doesnt work, let me know. I could probably check around and find out for
you, but e-mail me privately.

Roger :

Seattle Pottery Supply (800) 522-1975 carries Volcanic Ash, Mt. St.
Helens. I have an old catalog so I'm not sure the prices ( 1# $ 1.95 to
100# $ 37.50) are current.
