Hi all,
I think my last message got a little incoherent (someone else demanding
their turn on the computer). What i was trying to ask was, How might a
sculpture studio differ from a throwing studio? I have my own ideas of
course, but am interested in eliciting yours.
More good ideas from Jean Lehmann--put in a big garage door, have a floor
drain if possible. Some one else--Jan? sorry, I've lost your name--says she
like having a huge table in the middle of the room.

All this is absolutely fascinating, and is shaping up into a lot of
information. I'll try to come up with a synopsis for anyone else that might
be interested. I also want to belatedly thank everyone who has ever
submitted wedging table plans, kiln repair techniques, and other equipment
advice--since i will soon be able to use some of that advice. Oh and all
those hundreds of glaze recipes i've been hoarding up; thanks for those,
too.

Any last thoughts about that unexpectedly indispensible feature of your
workspace? Something that you wish you'd left room for? or have we covered
everything?

I often wish I had bought , from a beauty salon going out of
business, their hydraulic chair lifts...imagine having a basic
table that you could move up and down at the touch of a foot
pedal!

I have one table on wheels..I wish I had put wheels on two
others..
And if i can have three wishes, I wish I had put a drain in the
floor
so that i could hose it down...

Elca,
Actually, I had one on those tables..........an old fashioned drawing table
with an old computer hook up for computer drafting. It had a pedaI and
everything. I gave it away before I got back into pottery. You probably
could find one if you looked.
