more on wedging tables

Since my studio is too small to accomodate a wedging table it is a little
hard sometimes getting the wedging done especially in the winter months.
My clothes dryer is too high in the laundry room and any kind of step stool
was in the way when not in use so I was forced to improvise just as we do so
much of the time in clay.

In the summer time I take a canvas covered oblong piece of plywood the width
of a picnic table bench and set it on the bench and then sit or straddle
both the board and bench and wedge. This takes the weight off my feet and
back and is remarkably easier on the wrists and shoulders. I am able to use
my body weight in sort of a rocking motion. And the sun on the back feels
so good.

This winter I took the board inside and found a small bench that was just
the right hieght to throw with and also fit the board for wedging. Was able
to keep the mess in one place and felt better too.
