mixing lee's kiln wash...

First I would suggest emptying the contents of a new one-gallon bucket of
the Lee's into a clean 5 gal bucket... Then break up the solid mass with
your hands until it breaks up into a consistency of a thick slip...I do
some diluting.. this is best done with a second person to assist to rinse
your hands of the kiln wash solids so that the wash goes into the bucket
and is not wasted... Then take a electric drill with a mixing bit and have
at it for the final mixing...

Am I missing something here?

Pay a premium price for kiln wash, ship it across the country, and then it
takes two people, an electric driil, and a 5 gallon bucket to get it to a
usable condition????

My 50/50 by weight EPK and hydrated alumina kiln wash does everything I
want it to do, costs next to nothing, and mixes with a few stirs even after
sitting for months. Never flakes, releases with a chisel hit in case of a
run, resists the ash in my wood kiln.

I never flip my silicon carbide shelves (20 years old) and just as many are
slightly warped UP as DOWN. Virtually all are cracked, but the cracks
haven't gotten any bigger in years and years.
