Clayarters :

I received a letterin the mail from Mayfield Publishing Company advertising
a new book " Make It In Clay : A Beginner's Guide to Ceramics " by
Charlotte Speight and John Toki. The information about the book is
impressive.

Has anyone seen a copy? Heard of the Authors? Heard of the
publisher? TIA.

Yes, I know John Toki. He comes from a long line of potters and his mother
was the founder of Leslie Ceramics in Berkeley. A previous publication, Hands
In Clay is one of my favorite textbooks by these folks. If this new text in
anything like the former, I think you will be very pleased Emily Henderson
( yes, It's I and I'm back, still on the Oregon Coast with a new E-Mail
address and server.)

Raphael -
I have been using Charlotte Speight's "Hands in Clay" (Mayfield) for an
intermediate-level ceramics text for six years now, and I think it is the
finest one on the market.
