Hi everyone:

I am looking for a recipe for a glaze called: Molly Blanding Glaze.
This glaze was described in the September 1994 Ceramics Monthly in an article
on Oregon potter Leslie Lee. It is a copper matte which flashes burgundy,
blue and red.
I don't have that issue of CM to look this up. Would someone who still has
the Sept. '94 issue of CM look this up for me? Thanks!

Dan

Here is the glaze recipe you requested:

Revised Molly Blanding Glaze
(Cone 06)

Bone Ash.............2 cups
Colemanite............5
Frit 3124(Ferro)...1/4
Nepheline Syenite....1

Add: Cobalt Carbonate..1/8 cup
Copper Carbonate.. 1 cup

Increase the cobalt for deeper blue, or add a little manganese to encourage
purples. Like most raku glazed, the higher it's fired, the glossier the
surface.
