looking for a silver raku glaze

Greetings to all!

I'm hoping someone out there has a silver (mirror-like) raku glaze that
they would share.

If no one has such a glaze... does anyone have any suggestions for
formulating one?

Appreciatively in advance!

Valice

(This is my first (& clumsy) attempt to recreate my *art* signature!)

>Hereis a base raku glaze with 3 silver variations I found in Chappell's

For silver lustres use silver nitrate in the amount of 2.1% and soda ash in
the amt of 1 gram per mix.

For silver lusters with greenish tints add chrome oxide in the amount of
1.2% to above.

For silver lusters with bluish tints use the first variation and add

Dear Valice, I have recently tested a glase given me by a friend in Hawaii.
I liked the results that she had obtained when I was there. I and several of
my pottery friends here in Lexington Ky have used it and like it a lot.
Here is the recipe:
Gerstley borate 80% 320gr.
Bone Ash 20% 80gr.
Copper Carb. 3% 12gr.
Cobalt Carb. 2% 8gr.
Manganese Carb. 3.5% 14gr.
I have used this glase by itself and then I brushed on a very dilute solution o
f Silver Nitrate in water. It gave a mirror like effect on the areas of
aplication. My friend who gave me the recipe, disolved the Silver Nitrate in a
small amount of glase and applied it as an accent. I have not seen this used
to completely cover the pot. Will try it soon. Hope this helps as it is a very
simple method. Good luck!
