Though I am just about ready to place my order with New Castle
Refractories, (412)654-7711,,,fax (412)654-6322... I was thinking that
clayarters should considering forming a pool.. There is a definite savings
when going in quantity on a shelf buy.. I am buying about 45 each of the
Nitride Bonded, SiC, 12x24x1/2 at 13 lbs, for cone 10-11 reduction, for $49
each...When you order 216 pieces or more the price goes down to about
$44.60 each and no freight is charged.* But I don't know what their
policy is if the shelves are going to different destinations.. The price
is much less than Norton's prices from what I have been told but may not be
as good as Norton's shelves which are comparable to these; I don't really
know. I personally have used these New Castle shelves and have had little
problems with them. Below are prices I have on the above shelf
description... Any way you look at it shelves are not cheap...

1-43 pcs $55.72 plus $50 Die Set fee and freight
44-215 pcs $49.03 no set-up fee and freight
216+ pcs $44.57 no set-up fee and "no freight charge"* (* that is the way
I interpreted the quote I received)

I wished I knew how to make crystars and sell them at a fair price.. I
would soon be able to retire!... Marshall
