All:

I will be in Sacramento from May 16-20th and in San Francisco frpm May
20-27th. I am a [beginning] potter who creates and uses colored clays. I would
love to visit with other potters in the area, especially those who work with
colored clays. Anyone?

Also, are there any Shows in those areas during that period of time?

Thanks,

Eydie,

You've picked a GREAT time to come! In Davis, 15 minutes west of
Sacramento, There are numerous shows that are running in conjunction with
the "California Conference For The Advancement Of Ceramic Arts" otherwise
known as CCACA. The conference is over but the shows are thru the 19th.

John Natsoulas Gallery: 140 F Street, Davis 916-756-3938
"Thirty Ceramic Sculptors" includes Stephen DeStabler, David
Gilooley, Deborah Masuoka, Peter Vandenberg and more. There is usually
some Arneson as well.

On the following; I don't have their addresses, but if you start at
Natsoulas, you can get directions for the rest. Many will be within
walking distance of Natsoulas.

The Artery: The California Clay Competition
Pence Gallery: Sherry Carver
Davis Art Center: works by Davis ceramics instructors

Encina Art Gallery: 1400 Bell Street, Sacramento: Brief history of ceramic clay
sculpture in the Sacramento Valley

Feats Of Clay, Lincoln,45 minutes from Sacramento (916) 645-6000 Call!

I know all of these shows are sculpture, but they are great shows. In
Sacramento there is a new clay studio: 1001 Del Paso Blvd, with retail
space, classes, studio's.

You can come and see me too, if you like. My work is sculpture also, but
you are welcome!
