heat shield:kiln

I just wanted to thank everyone for their suggestions on heat shielding
for my kiln. I'll most likely be tacking on a layer of drywall,
installing a spacer, and superimposing a layer of corrugated tin atop it.
This is a less costly alternative to the hazy ideas I'd been turning over
in my mind, and I'm grateful for the group's collective wisdom. I'd
hoped to have torn off my arch insulation and reinsulated it as well as
installing the heat shielding for the barn this weekend, but snow and
sub-freezing temps convinced me that firing up the woodstove and working
inside the studio was a wiser move. When it warms up and the project is
finished, I'll let you all know how it turned out.

thanks again,

Richard Aerni
