Hi Dan,

Perhaps leaving the plastic on for a few days more would help. When I
cover my pots (which have lots of flowers and leaves that can crack off
easily if I'm not real careful) the plastic ends up being on for several
days. Of course I don't wrap the poor pot up too tightly (or it would
never dry) I just leave the sides open and as the days go by and the pot is
more dry each day, I expose more of it still. I know this takes a long
time, for me it is worth while to do so that my flowers don't fall off.

Maybe your new clay just wants to dry really slowly. Anyway, it was just a
thought. I hope it all works out, good luck with that problem.
