glycerin tip - big thank you

A recent thread asking for a glaze extender suggested using glycerin.

I took that idea and ran with it. I use an Albany/cobalt oxide mix
to decorate. One of the things I like to do it put a line around the
top of bowls with another line about 1/2" below, and clear glaze the
bowl - they end up looking like bowls that grandma used to use. My
customers (older customers ahem) love them, but to date, I have had
trouble making a continuous circle even using a very expensive liner
brush.

I saw the glycerin tip; and mixed about 1/3 glycerin to 2/3 slip. Using
my liner brush, I was able to make a smooth, *continous* line all around
the lip of the pot! I then brushed some of the mixture onto a sponge
stamp (I usually only get 1-2 clean impressions with a water only mix)
and proceeded to get 4 *clean* impressions onto the pot! Heaven.....

I write interesting tips down in a notebook I keep by the computer, so
don't know the name of the person that gave the tip. I wish to publicly
thank you. After potting for over 10 years, I (obviously) still have lots
to learn.

and oh yeah, I have purple hair.
