You all have missed the point. Any measurement is only as accurate as the
instrument used to measure and the person using it. Potter usually work in
percentage and any measurement system based on 10's is easier to use.
Metric or not!

Gee I worked in a scientific field for 10 Years, and when I got home
it was a relief to do my hobbies in any system but metric. I had to
work with meters, kiloliters, ect as well as Kilograms and grams. Yes
it is easier to convert, but most people in the U.S. have a almost
innate understanding of the English system that it is easier and more
rational for them to use. Heck I have a scale that I use all the time,
which messures in grains and drams, I still wouldn't give it up for
milligrams and grams if I had to switch everything else to metric.
If most of us had been using the metric system for 30 or 40 years it
might and most likely would be as easy for us to use.
