Glazing Techniques.

The frit is listed as KGF 4110: Na2O-15.31, K2O-2.54, CaO-6.13,
Al2O3-4.20, B2O3-2.68, SiO2-69.15. A high alkali frit.

What Pemco or Ferro frit can be substituted? TIA.

I know for a fact that John Williams at Trinity Ceramics in Dallas, TX can
tell you the chemical compositions of the frits they carry. Its just a
matter of matching the chemicals and molecular composition. John is very
helpful and has access to lots of info.
Rafael-I notice you are using Randy's account. Randy knows John and should
be able to confirm the advice.

Rafael,

Regarding your request for a Pemco (now Bayer) or Ferro offset frit
referred to in Greg Daly's book as KGF 4110, the best Bayer product is
P-1V04. Unfortunately, that product is now obsolete. The Ferro offset
is 3110, but I don't know whether it is still active.

EJ: The two pottery supply houses in the Toronto area both list 3110 among
frits they sell, so I guess Ferro still offers it to industry and others.
