To recover after an upcoming open studio show, I'm taking my
ten-year-old son to northwest Arizona, concentrating on the
area around Flagstaff. (Arriving June 18 for about a week.)
I'd like to hear from ClayArters in that area on two topics
- interesting and inexpensive places to stay that aren't
national hotel chains
- fun clay viewing experiences that a ten-year-old would
tolerate. (He does know something about clay and was
fascinated by his study of the Anasazi in school this year.)
Anything special besides the museum in Flagstaff?

Private replies; spare the list! Thanks. Hoping to meet
some of you.

I lived in Flagstaff for a couple of years and it is a wonderful place.
I can tell you most about places to see. Sedona is a must--only 45
minutes from Flagstaff but has beautiful red rock cannon all over. There
are many shops there that will give you a taste for the style of potter
and culture of the area. My personal favorite place is the church built
in the rocks in Sedona (any of the locals will tell you how to get there).

Enjoy!

Sue.
