Sylvia,
Fiber board is available from the same manufacturers that make fiber
blanket. I purchased some from A.P.Green about 10 years ago and it came
in sheets about one inch thick by 2 feet by 3 feet(approx). It is also
available from Thermal Ceramics(was Babcock & Wilcox) in Augusta GA
706-796-4216. They have offices all over and have a wide variety of
fiber and refractory products in various shapes and sizes. The fiber
board can be easily cut with a matt knife. Sam

I am also wondering if anyone knows of a material that comes in a
sheet-form like plywood. I'd like to sandwich fiber between high-fire
boards to make a flat roof and possibly door, so that I could use the
kiln
for top-loading raku kiln if I wanted to. I'd also make a board type
door,
so that I didn't have to brick up door each firing. If anyone knows of
such
a material and where I can get it, I'd sure appreciate the help.
