feldspar chunks

Heard of some chicken scratch from Montana that was large chunks of custer
feldspar. I want to wedge chunks into my clay for woodfiring. Do you know
any sources of the material or methods of making your own?
Much obliged. Tony

Tony, I don't think you're talking of scratch feed but rather the gravel that
you give to confined chickens to help them digest their scratch feed and
other grain. You may want to check with your lo-cal feed and grain supplier.
They may carry that brand or something similar.
If you are wanting to get that Shigaraki clay look which contains partially
decomposed feldspar, I believe you can get it by using some of that white
pebbly stuff that aquarium suppliers sell. Maybe someone else on the lists
has heard of it or used it and can tell you exactly what to ask for.

June
