Yes! Yes! Yes! It is true! Georgies will give you 25lbs of clay if you
bring in 10 bowls for the EMPTY BOWLS project! Thank you for bringing
that up. That offer is for all of us. Take 10 handmade bowls and in
exchange Georgies will give you 25lbs more clay! Great Deal! Thank you
Georgies! John, Bob or Dick at the counter will help!

I see I could give a bit more information!

The EMPTY BOWL project here in Portland is sponsered by the Oregon
Potters Association (O.P.A.). Students, Members of O.P.A., and other
potters (local and distant) donate their handmade bowls. The bowls are
then sold by volunteers from a booth at the Waterfront Blues Festival.
The Blues Festival is a fundraiser for the Oregon Food Bank. It
features the soulful music of world renowned blues artists, food and
craft booths, and the EMPTY BOWLS sale. Admission of $3.00 and two cans
of food is requested.

The donated bowls are sold for around $10.00 each. The proceeds from
this years EMPTY BOWLS sale will be used to collect, store, and
transport food, so it can be distributed to agencies who provide it to
those in need.

In addition to the huge volunteer effort by Oregon potters, the EMPTY
BOWLS project is supported by Portland area Restaurants. These
wonderful restaurants donate a gift certificate for a cup of soup for
each purchase.

Georgies Ceramic and Clay Co. provides a storage area for the donated
bowls and supplies some materials for making the bowls. If you bring 10
bowls to Georgies for the empty bowl project.......they will give you
25lbs of clay!

We invite all to come and purchase a beautiful bowl in the Empty Bowls
booth at the Blues Festival. Use it daily and feel great about helping.
There will be an opportunity to purchase a very large hand thrown jar
signed by blues musicians from the 1995 Blues Festival including the
well-known local musician Paul DeLay.

We welcome you all...........

sure it got to you all!
