Don,

The cone number in the sitter is usually one cone hotter than visual cones.
Because the sitter cone is horizontal and has a bar on top of it, it deforms
sooner than a visual cone standing up at the eight-degree lean recommended
by Orton. So a cone 6 in the sitter is expected to give you a visual cone 5
bending. Cone 06 in the sitter give you cone 07 bending. You can use large
or small cones for the visual cone pack, but the large and small cones of
the same number melt at somewhat different temperatures, so use the same
type consistantly.
