I am ready to try my hand at firing in a large drum with sawdust .Is it
possible to glaze with this type of firing? If so does the greenware
need to be bisque fired first.
Thanks for your help

I've not heard of glaze firing in sawdust. But, perhaps this idea will
help. We make non functional forms from a ^6 clay. We put a ^08-06 glaze
on the greenware and fire the pots to 08. We take these (bisqued)pots and
saw dust fire them. We get great effects as the glaze is ill fitting and
the smoke can infiltrate the glaze. Please note that these pots are NOT
food safe, and should be noted as such. Hope this helps! Marilyn in
