downsides to itc100?

updated tue 30 sep 97

We continue to hear about all the positive qualities of ATC100. We are
purchasing a new electric Skutt and I would like to know if there are any
other
downsides to this product that we should consider other than it flaking
off.. TIA

Dear Lori: ITC l00 does not flake off. When sprayed on the insulating
brick it becomes part of it. The person saying it flakes has obviously
never seen or used the product.
Try it and be impressed!
Cheers,

I have itc inside both my electric and gas kiln. I also have itc 296 on
them - on top of the itc100. I have never had any flaking whatever. I
went from a kwh usage of 180 kwh to 130 after coating my kiln. My usage
seems high, however, I single fire and have 17 hour firings. I also coated
my shelves, tile setters, and posts.

Linda,
Could you tell us how long ago you applied the itc to your kilns and
aprox. how many firings you have had since the application of the
material? Also what temp. are you firing to in the gas and elec.?
