Rose - I would suggest visiting the Denver Art Museum. They have an
extensive Pre-Columbian collection, and Chinese, Japanese and American
Indian ceramics as well. There's also an exhibit there with several of
Betty Woodman's pots.
You are welcome to come visit my studio in Boulder.- Meg

Rose,
I'm not exactly in Denver and you wouldn't want to visit me anyway
.. . . , but there is some good clay in Denver. The Colorado Clay 1996 show
runs through April 14 at the Foothills Art Center 809 Fifteenth Street,
Golden, CO (15 mi. west of Denver). It's a good show, John Balistreri took
first with fine anagama fired pieces. The Arvada Center for the Arts and
Humanities has a good clay studio with something happening everyday 'til
about 9:30 or 10:00pm when they throw us out. Come visit.
Denver itself has a fairly standard gallery scene with a number in
LoDo along with good restaurants and brewpubs and in Cherry Creek where its
yupscale, but some good work if you look for it.
If you can get to Boulder, the Coop has fine work. Look for Jim
Lorio's work, especially the pieces fired in Balistreri's kiln.
Hopefully there are some Denverites who can be a better guide.
Enjoy your visit.
