Hi All,
Tony asked a few days ago where people had started using Darvan as a
joining compound.
I looked back in my notes and found this from a hand out that was given
to me by Irish Flynn in July of 1987:

" Deflocculant used in place of sod, silica/soda ash. Mix in
amounts between .2% - 1.0% . Darvan is also used in 1 - 5%
solutions in spray bottle to improve joint adhesion and prevent
cracking when assembling leather hard objects."
I've used it ever since and have found a noticeable difference in the
amount of cracks and loss that I have on Plainsman M340 and other clay
bodies when making additions ( compared to using water or a slip made
from the clay body )... works for me!
Colleen.

Dear Randall Moody,

To clarify confusion caused by the local use of the English language.

Would you please clarify the term "Thesis Year"

Thanks.

Sorry about the confusion. In the last year of the program I am in
requires not only an exit or "thesis" show but also an actual written
thesis.

Dear Randall,
Thank you for your message.
Would this be at a pre or post graduate degree level ?
I suppose in terms that were used almost half a century ago this would mean
a special study related to the exhibition.
Best regards,
