A good friend new to pottery is moving back to the Dallas area and
requested I send this message. Please advise of any stores/studios in
the area where one can purchase clays, slips, tools, equipment, etc.
Is anyone aware of any schools/studios offering classes other than the
Dallas Art Guild? Any and all help you can offer would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks!

There are two stores in the area where you can buy pottery supplies and
numerous ceramic stores. Trinity ceramics in Dallas (Diplomacy Rd) has
a large selection of premixed clays and materials, as well as, supplies
and books. Texas pottery supply in Fort Worth also mixes clays and will
mix personal recipes, they carry dry materials and some tools, supplies
and books.
Univeristy of North Texas in Denton has the largest ceramics dept. in
the state. It is an excellent resourse. I believe Elmer Taylor will be
teaching an evening ceramics class in the spring (a rare opportunity for
many). So check that out. If you have more questions e-mail me
directly. I am in Denton.
