Hello ClayArters,

For any of you that have been following the thread on cone problems that I
originally posted in December there is an answer. Dale Fronk at Orton
(thanks to Bacia Edelman for the name and #) says that a few years ago the
formula on Cones 6, 7, and 8 was changed because the old white cones were
unstable. Cones 9 and 10, etc. remain the same.
This means if you are mixing the old 6, 7, or 8 with any other newer color
coded cones you may have problems. He said it is possible if you are used
to firing at cone 8 with the old cones (I suppose this would apply to cones
6 or 7 too) it may be necessary to drop down to the new cone 7 to get the
same results!
