cone 1-3 glaze

Greetings:
Can anyone suggest recipes for Cone 1-3 glazes, to be used over red
clay, fired oxidation or reduction in a gas kiln. I'd especially like
something with wood ash, and no frit or GB, as both are expensive in
Thailand.
Don't know why, but there's not much info on glazes in this range. I
like to fire here because this is where our clay is cooked--it's red
clay with lots of alumina.
Thanks,
Nikom

Hi Nikom,

I recall there was an article by Richard Zakin in Ceramics Monthly a few
years ago (sorry... I can't remember the month and year) regarding working
in cone 3 with clay body and glaze recipes. Our university library has an
extensive collection of old issues of CM, so if you don't have access to ,
let me know and I'll look it up for you.
