There has been discussion on Clayart about the wonderful exhibit here.
Someone asked for confirmation of the end date. It is January 19, l997.
A catalog may be obtained. Title of that and show is "Hare's Fur,
Tortoiseshell, and Partridge Feathers". The cost is $35 plus $5.50 to ship
out of state. I have not asked about shipping out of the U.S.A.
The phone of the museum shop, which handles it, is 608/263-2240. An address
to send check or credit card no. and expiration date would be Gift Shop,
Elvehjem Museum, U. of Wisconsin, Madison, WI 53706.
The title refers to black ware from the 2nd through the 14th centuries that
has patterns like the names, the patterns resulting from an iron oxide wash
over the iron rich glaze.
