Someone is selling a BRENT CXC with legs for stand up throwing. Only
used 1 year--she's had it for about 4 years. Price $700. Is this a decent
price? It is my understanding that the legs alone are about $200. Does
anybody have this wheel...do you think I could get a better price from
Bennett's? AND...does anyone have Bennett's phone number handy?

Thanks as always....
Sandy

Hi Sandy,

I just happened to have Bennett's catalog on my desk - their number is
800-432-0074 and they have the Brent CXC for $750.00 brand new. It didn't
say anything about the legs but you could probably get them for a bit less
than $200. IMHO, if you don't actually need the extra leg height, you might
be better off buying a new wheel and having the warranty.

Sounds like a good deal to me. I advise you to grab it as soon as you can.

Bennetts is usually my first choice as a supplier. They have always had
the lowest prices, and I have not experienced any delivery problems. In
fact, I usually receive materials within a couple of days. Were you
able to determine the cause of the shipping delay? Sometimes Bennetts
has the manufacturer ship directly to the customer. Could the problem
have been with Brent, or with your school's purchasing department? Joan
at Bennetts has always been straightforward with me about shipping
times. If it's going to take a month, she has always said so up front.
I wonder if she is aware of the problems you had.

Kiln-Ray is a reputable dealer of kilns, wheels and other pottery
related equipment, and Joe Catanzaro, who you probably talked to, is
a reliable person.

Sounds like you also lost the spring mechanism out of the switch when the
rocker popped off...probably beyond repair...call Brent up and they will be
happy to send you another one...

Hey there, Somehow I knocked the little plastic on/off switch off my Brent
last night. I can push the piece back into the spot it goes but the wheel
doesn't turn on now and the switch, switches back and forth flimsily. Any
experience with this or how to fix it?

At the back center of the white plastic piece that comes off (the rocker) is
a short stem or post - about 1/4 inch long, maybe even shorter. Check to see
that it is there. It might have been broken when you knocked the rocker off.

The piece that is the actual switch has a black rubbery dohickey in the
middle. You must get the post of the rocker to fit back into the black
rubbery dohickey. If you get those two pieces to mate properly, the switch
should work.

Shula,

I purchased a Brent CXC 2 years ago. I have had no problems with the =
