back from summer break and making kaolinite models

Hello to all! I've been off-line since summer classes were over. Now
Fall quarter has begun, so I am close to my internet server on campus. I
hope everyone had a great summer.

Has anyone made a 3-D model of a kaolinite molecule? One of the
Chemistry instructors and I are thinking of constructing one from those
chemistry tinker-toy parts.

Also, has anybody at a college or university tried linking wheelthrowing
with a physical sciences class? The college I work for likes to link
classes in different disciplines so that students begin to see
connections between them. Both instructors are present for both
classes. I figure that it would be great, but if anyone knows of
pitfalls we should watch out for while planning for next year, let me
know at my e-mail (ehayes@ctc.edu).

Erin.
