Does anyone have a chemical breakdown for Avery Clay? I want to play with it
to see if we can come up with some useable results for application and color
in salt and or wood.

Thanks thepottery@aol.com (Tracy Dotson Penland NC)

Here is a percentage formula of Avery that I have from an old chart:

46.73 SiO2
37.47Al2O3
.74 Fe2O3
.06 TiO2
.89 K2O
.16 Na2O

L.O.I. 13.52

You might get a close match by using about 1/2 and 1/2 Kamec Kaolin and
Grolleg..
I don't know if Kamec is still available.

Good luck! Let us know how it works!
