You have to understand that the controller can only *limit* the
rate of increase. The maximum rate of increase for a given kiln
is fixed by elements, power supply, insulation, air leaks etc.

Great point. Thanks. Can one put extra insulation around the outside edge
of the lid where it meets the kiln - kind of like sealing tape on a box lid?
I would think that would be a big air leak - I can see red glowing thru
there. Would it damage anything on the 3" brick kiln? It is all sheathed
in metal, but I was wondering if there'd be any expansion/contraction problems?

Would I have to use any special wire or material to hold the fiber in place?
