Australian National University Canberra School of Art is hosting
Australia's major ceramic conference 5-9 July 1996. "International
Connections" will have panels, demonstrations, and participants from over
fourteen countries. Keynote speakers Alison Britton, John Teschendorff,
Janet Mansfield and Susan Peterson will be supported with demonstrations by
Sven Bayer,Fred Olsen, Pru Venables, Alison Britton, John Chalke, Anna
Zamorska, Hideo Matsumoto, Jindra Vikova , big pot makers,Archie McCall and
many others. Panels cover craft writing (The Write Stuff), appropriation,
tradition and plagiarism (Pinched Pots), technology, cyberculture, training
and studying internationally, the symposium experience and exhibiting
internationally(Been There- Done That) and much more. Practical panels on
glaze, kilns and clay, individual papers and slide programs fill out the
programme- to say nothing of the exhibitions and socialising......
The conference is being held in conjunction with eight international
masterclasses and a woodfire symposium. For information, reply to
