Last fall I attended a workshop in which Lenore Vanderkooi participated and
demonstrated her techniques...she passed out a sheet of her recipes and one
of those recipes is a replacement for slip(as in to attach slabs, handles,
etc.)
I've used this for the past year now and it is wonderful!!!

Lana's Magic Water
1 gallon water
9.5 grams liquid sodium silicate
3 grams soda ash

I apply it by dipping a tooth brush into this mix and scrapeing the clay
surface with it..I get far less cracking now then when I used slip!!!!
Good luck!
