Can anyone on the list could assist me in finding the address for the
French ceramic artist Georges Jeanclos? His work has been featured in
both Ceramics Art and Perception and American Ceramics. You may send any
information to me personally -- swolfe@hawaii.edu.
Thanks -- and aloha.

George Jeanclos is alas no longer with us

From what I know,he was born in Paris in 1933,studied at the Beaux
Arts de Paris, won a 1st Price in Rome in 1959. Some of his work is to
be admired at the Villa Medicis.
He was a professor, chef d'atelier at l'Ecole Nationale Superieure des
Beaux Arts since 1976 until the end. He was also directeur de
l'Atelier de Recherche et de la Creation at the Manufacture de Sevres.
I believe the Jewish Museum in New York and the Foundation Johnson
(quid the state?) have a public collection of some sculptures, also
the Osuna Gallery in Washington must have some data as to his one man
show in 1981.

I've been lucky to have seen the Kamamura series in Paris last year -
left me speechless - and to be able to purchase the last booklet which
was old and dirty - made my day.
For me he will live for ever.
