Hi Lisa,

This is a recipe from Clayart, I believe it is Richard Burkett's (am I right
Richard?)

When fired on white clay (I use porcelain), it looks like cranberry red.
Not quite but close to a copper red. Shiny, breaks clear on the edges.

Red/Pink Purple/Mauve ^6

21 gersley borate
16 neph sy
11kaolin
20 whiting
32 silica
5 tin
o.15 chrome

Another glaze from Clayart (Michelle Lowe) thanks Michelle.
This looks great splashed on top of the chrome tin glaze above. It also
looks nice splashed on the ever popular Floating Blue glaze.

65 neph sy
7 dolomite
4 zinc
5 whiting
7 kaolin
10 flint
2 bentonite
6 rutile
2 copper

A soft matt green glaze, breaks tan on the edges. ^5-8

Try these out and see how they work for you.

Lisa :

I've had good results with the following glaze :

Oxblood ^ 6 Reduction (from CeramicsWeb)

Nepheline Syenite 55.33
Gerstley Borate 12.61
Whiting 10.71
Silica 21.35

Add :
Copper Carbonate .39
Tin Oxide .99

A caveat, I fire this glaze to ^ 7 reduction in a light soda firing. It's a ver
nice oxblood red.

Good luck !

I also recently tested the red/cranberry glaze described by Anne and got
similar results on white stoneware (B-mix) as she did on porcelin. I have
this listed as "Kemp 17" - either created or listed by Brian Kemp.
