(test results) throwing pugged clay... which end up???

I think I agree with this first statement and not the second (see below)...
the spiral is s shaped. I did a quick experiment to see if i could find out
which way the pug should be put on the wheel. I took two 2x3inch pugs and
marked "A" pug with the top being the first clay to come out of the
pugmill."B" pug was put on the other way.all I did was center the pugs then
let them dry fast. the "B" pug cracked the" A" pug did not (not yet anyway,
ill fire it and see further). the crack is a backwards "S" if you turn it
over it is a forwards "S", so it is different. if you are throwing on a
counterclockwise wheel the backwards "S" is opening up the spiral and
causing the crack if you throw a forwards "S" it is tightening the sprial
and lessening the crack.
this is not proof just a educated guess...
Please try it your self and see if the results are similar.

Id rather tighten the spiral and settle for less cracks than slap each pug
around so I can put it on its side.
