Welcome to potters.org. This site has been published as a service to potters. It was originally built because of a personal interest in ceramics. Potters.org is run to enable all ceramics enthusiasts both professional and hobbyist to search the archived discussions. The discussions have been classified using programs specifically written to automate the complex task of complex data classification. The classification is semi-automated, about 95% accurate, and contains 80% of the messages on the Clayart discussion group. The classification technology has now been upgraded and extended for a new site of interest, www.gardenerscorner.org.
This service is a breakdown of the discussion on Clayart - the internet discussion group founded and originally moderated by Joe Molinaro and Richard Burkett. Clayart is now hosted and run by the American Ceramics Society, and this site is a categorised archive of that discussion. The archive started in March '96 and is usually updated daily.
If you would like to take part in the discussion, please see the registration information on www.ceramics.org/clayart/. We suggest you use the 'digest' option so you receive only one summary email a day instead of dozens. If you want to stop or change your daily Clayart email please go to www.ceramics.org/clayart/.
Please note that although personal names are on public display here (just as they are on the Clayart listserv list). we don't distribute email addresses or any other personal information. We may send you the occasional email when there is a change of service. We restrict mailings to the minimum, only sending out email when new features have been added to the site.
If you have any suggestions, ideas or comments about the site please contact us at mailto:enquiries@quantz.com.
